My name is Kelly Wilson. I have been living in Asheville for 3 ½ yrs. After doing a lot of searching, I have decided to make WNC my home. I am originally from Ohio but left there in 1998 to find bigger and better things. My first stop was Glacier National Park in Montana.
This is where my true love of the outdoors began. I ended up staying in the state after my season at the park was through and moved to Missoula for a year, then Whitefish for another year. Next, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona. I’m pretty sure in the time I was there I hiked about everything in the state. Then it was onto Lake Tahoe, California, Hikers Paradise. This is where I picked up my hiking partner, Maggie. After 2 seasons of snow I thought it would be a good idea to move to Miami, Florida. I was wrong. Neither Maggie or I liked it very much there and Asheville was next on the list.

Every stop along the way has brought many new friends and experiences. I have lived with over 10 different dogs, 5 cats, 2 turtles and an iguana. Luckily not all at the same time! I have over 10 yrs experience sitting for a variety of pets for roommates, friends and co-workers.
I enjoy reading many pet journals, books, websites and anything else I can get my hands on. I strive to keep myself updated about my pets at home and the ones that I care for. I am currently pursuing a certificate in pet CPR and first aid, as soon as the course comes available in our area.

Fortunately, Red Cross has just come out with a book and DVD combo that goes over all of the course information. I have purchased and studied it throughly.
I also am a member of PUPS (Professional United Pet Sitters) and PSA (Pet Sitter Associates). In addition to this business, I work part time at
All Pets Animal Hospital caring for the pets that are kenneled there.
You might also recognize me from working at Asheville Pizza and Brewing Co. Maybe you saw my flier on your pizza box. |
